Marty’s current body of work investigates the merger of traditional fiber arts techniques and scientific theories concerning astronomy; she uses crochet, macramé, and weaving to create radiating fiber art fractals, abstracted nebulas, shooting stars, and planetary
explosions. Marty is also interested in the idea of probability, or luck. In these trying times Marty has been living her life superstitiously, becoming a scavenger and creator of luck items, squishing pennies on the tracks, collecting discarded lottery tickets,
marking auspicious dates, and creating dream catchers.
