Kelly Tucker is an artist and illustrator living in Chicago. She graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a degree in Art and Design and went on to run a storefront gallery with 3 other women in Chicago. Tucker is currently working on her first textile collection and is the creator of The Cosby Sweater Project, a blog dedicated to documenting the patterns from clothing worn on every episode of The Cosby Show.
Pattern Theory is a drawn documentation of the patterns that are part of everyday life. From the entryway of the EL to the designs on a couch, we encounter a vast amount of visual repetition in our lives. Out of context these patterns can invoke feelings that are not usually associated with the objects that they stem from. Tucker takes a deeper look at the meta information that makes up seemingly mundane objects and asks us to reevaluate our perceptions of them.
